Larry Walsh was my friend from grade school through graduation. I was working at the Tulsa World newspaper in the early 1970s when a report came that he had been killed in a car accident on old highway 33. He'd been living near Chouteau and commuting to Tulsa.

He and I used to escape at lunch to Hank's Hamburgers on Admiral, which he loved. He liked fast cars. The Highway Patrol said he was killed when he used the shoulder as a passing lane and plowed into a parked vehicle. When I read the report I had no doubt it was my old, impatient buddy.
